Most newspapers contain news, detailed articles on home and international diplomacy, reviews of books, art and Tv shows. Many of them also comprehend sports events, give personal advertisements and pieces of advice, and publish horoscopes, weather forecasts, jokes, anecdotes and crossword puzzles.

Most national newspapers limited a political opinion, and people cull them according to their political beliefs.

TV AND RADIO

Broadcasting in the U.k. is controlled past the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and the Independent Tv set Committee (ITC). The BBC receives its income from the government, just the private companies are controlled by the ITC which replaced in 1991 the IBA.

National radio is controlled by the BBC, and listeners can cull between four stations. Radio 1 is a pop-music station with news and magazine-style programmes. Radio 2 plays light music and reports on sport. Radio iii plays classical music, and Radio 4 has news programmes, drama and general interest programmes. There are many local stations, some private and some run past the BBC. Their programmes consist mainly of music and local news.

The BBC has two TV channels. BBC two has more serious programmes and news features. At that place is a intermission for advertisements about every xv-20 minutes. The IBA is responsible for looking after the regional independent Goggle box companies who broadcast their own programmes and those they accept bought from other regions. The nearly recent independent aqueduct is Channel 4, and information technology has more than specialized programmes than the main channels. In general, people think the programmes offered on British television receiver are of a very high standard. Some people, yet, are becoming worried nigh the corporeality of violence on Television receiver, and the outcome this may accept on immature people.

TV and radio are also two of the main didactics channels used past the Open up University. This 'university of the air' allows many thousands of students to study at dwelling for degrees they never would have obtained in the chief educational system. 'Superlative of the Pops' is a plan that has been shown every calendar week on BBC TV for many years. Each week computers in a number of record – shops throughout the Britain show how many copies of a record have been sold that week. The new chart, issued each Tuesday evening, shows which singles have sold the most copies during the previous week. With this information, the prove's producers decide which songs will be played. Usually it will be those moving upwardly the charts, or the new releases which the disc jockeys (unremarkably chosen DJs) think will be 'hits'. Of course, each calendar week the show finishes with the number one single. Bands either announced live in the studio, or in a video recording made especially to sell the record. These videos take become so of import in the last few years that they can help to brand a tape a striking.
